Blue patina rings-part 1

Blue gold  signature series - hexa
Copper, Brass and blue patina

Blue patina colouring has truly become a passion with me, what began as an experiment to see whether I could even develop the actual colour has now become a signature series of my designs. Having created pendants, earrings, bracelets and cuffs I simply had to try out a blue patina ring. The only problem was to develop the blue patina, the metal has to be sealed in with the chemicals required inside an airtight plastic box, and everything inside gets the patina! Huge problem if you only want certain areas to be covered in the patina and the rest a gleaming shining gold!
Solution? patina only the ring top and rivet it to the nice shiny brass shank ! :) Although riveting seemed like a great idea the problem was I could not reach into the tiny space of a ring shank with my hammer so I had to use one of my repousse tools ( so glad my old college professor was not around, not sure if that is correct tool etiquette :P) Anyhow here is the first ring, I will post the rest of the designs in patina rings -part 2 :)

I have been working on this new series inspired by buttons! yes I know buttons but not your ordinary run of the mill buttons, but enameled buttons with specially added button hole guards in copper and 'stitched' to the bezel setting with copper wires! What do you think of these ? I am truly looking for opinions here as to what colours & textures you would like to see these in do write in with your ideas and you just might see your idea created in enamel !

Twin sets! ( fingers and necks)

Twin sets
Copper, antiqued effect

In keeping with my fascination of creating a set consisting of an index finger ring and a matched pendant, I am starting a new series which will comprise, enameling on copper as well as some purely metal worked pieces. An unusual combination I think, and would love to hear opinions on this :) This is the first in the series and as yet in progress, lemme know what you think folks :)

Dress up your fingers with leaf rings

Lately I have become quite interested( actually fascinated is more like it :D ) in fold forming, but as I am out of the required 24 gauge metal to experiment with it, I thought about creating some pieces with just trying to 'turn' the metal with my hammer , so here is what I came up with : I used some copper scrap( 22 ga) cut out some shapes and for some reason all of them seemed to resemble leaves in various stages of drying up !
To make them more interesting I soldered a few of the nuggets that I periodically save from my  electro-forming experiments ! ( great way to use scrap rather then just sell it to my scrap guy - yup I got a scrap guy too :) gives great deals !)

While creating the band I was not really sure about the size so I have kept them adjustable so any body can now enjoy them! :) Thinking of calling them 'leaf rings' what do  you think, do they remind you of leaves?? Dried and folded up but definitely the third in the series reminded me of a lily pad what say?
